Dell Power Circle
CHALLENGE
Create awareness for DELL amongst university students, whilst building a long term direct communication channel. Form a database of students who intend on buying laptops and convert them into sales leads.
Seed
University undergraduates practice a very old custom known as “කුප්පිය” (Kuppiya).
“Kuppiya” is where students gather around a table to study and revise together.
The unique name has been passed down from the time where graduates gathered around a Kerosene Lamp (කුප්පිලාම්පුව) to study together after dark.
Idea
Dell Power Circle.
The Execution
Dell Power Circle enabled the modern student to practice Kuppiya with state-of-the-art Dell innovation.
The Power Circle (a circular desk) came fully equipped with cool chairs, powered lights, WiFi and power outlets for laptops.
Printed on the side of the Power Circle desk was a QR code which directed the student to a web page that displayed the sub segments of the Power Circle initiative.
Dell Power Talk – A series of inspirational speeches delivered by entrepreneurs
Dell Power Pitch – An opportunity for undergrads to become entrepreneurs by pitching their innovative ideas to Dell
Dell Power Ambassador – A chance for selected undergrads to represent Dell at their university
