Over the last couple of years B-Boy and Hip Hop dance groups have become very influential in the Hip Hop / dancing community. Reality shows like Derana City of Dance and Dancing Star have heartened this trend.

Idea

MDR MoveManic 2016

Sri Lanka’s first dancing competition conducted using a social media platform.

Execution

B-Boy and Dancing groups were invited to send in a 2-minute video of their best moves to be posted on the MDR Movemanic Facebook page.
Over 30 videos were submitted and 9 groups were selected.
Selection was based – 50% on likes, shares and views and 50% on the judge’s decision.

Results

30+ dancing groups took part in the competition.
